Ethan,

I've got one last question before i begin... The control room i'm treating is about 25x15x8. Two of the walls are outside walls, and the other two have rooms on the other side. It's a very old house, so all of the walls are plaster. Sound proofing is not a concern... i'm only looking to balance the sound. My question is... should i be very concerned about the very low end (20-80Hz)? My gut reaction is that my low end issues are probably in the upper lows due to the plaster walls. And is there a good way to test this?

thanks
craig

Craig,

A lot of the really low stuff travels through the walls. More relevant, it's very difficult to build bass traps that target 20-30 Hz anyway. The good news is that the worst damage from reflections usually occurs well above that.

I use the ETF program from http://www.acoustisoft.com to test rooms. In a pinch you can use sine waves at 1 Hz intervals, played one at a time and measured on a meter.
