Hi,
I am building a room 19’ x 13’ x 10’ high.
Would I benefit from splaying the side walls, say using a 11’ front, 19’ side, 15’ back by 10’ high ratio?
If so, what would be the most advantages ratio? (11’x 15’ or 12’ x 14’ or?)

If I go with the straight 19 x 13 x 10 room, can I use acoustical treatment to achieve the same benefit of splaying the walls?

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

Yes, you can splay the walls, and that avoids flutter echo without having to add extra absorption just for that purpose.

When the walls are angled the modes for that dimension are less defined. Some people average the dimension and that's probably okay. I assume you've seen my Mode Calculator program or an equivalent?

Yes, more or less.
