I'm only recording vocals right now. Eventhough I eventually plan to record bands, I'm sure that 75% of my clients will only need to record vocals. What would be a good solution to having good isolation for recording vocals in the one room studio mentioned in the EQ article? Custom built gobos? Are there any plans for a gobo with a plexiglas window or something so I can see the vocalist? Thanks.

i think you can do this, assembly of 4 parts of fiberboard, so you can mount and unmount the thing.
make it double wall with 703 2" in the middle.
Chop a suare and put a plate of acrilic material, but make sure it is not parallel positioned. so you have a structure to use when u need a booth, and when you don't just split the parts and put them elsewhere.

Sorry bout my english i hope u can understand the idea, i did it and it works very god, assuming your studio is isolated and acustically treated correctly.

Bye

Thanks Nanno. It sounds easy enough to figure out.

Hooks,

Nanno has some good advice. Or you can do what I do in my one-room studio: The singer stands near me and we both wear headphones. I always record flat anyway, with no compression or other processing, so it's no big deal not to be able to listen through speakers while recording.
