I just came from Amazon.com where I saw several very interesting-looking books available about amps. Remembering that Caevan once recommended (I think it was) a book by Dan Torres, I wanted to see if any one had made any headway with tube amps and mods and info. in that direction. I'd like to score a couple of good books about the ins and outs of amp modding. I have a Lexicon Sig. 284 that I bought cheap just in order to be able to try different methods of getting the el84's to distort. If I harm the thing, I'm only out $200. If I go through a lot of tubes, they're like $ 12.50 a piece or close to it. Anybody recommend books and/or getting anywhere with this kind of subversive tone activity?
