My number one vote would be Humble Pie....Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton.....smoking fo sho. Also Badfinger......excellent songs, great performance. Toad the Wet Sprocket to me are one of the finest bands to emerge during that era.....great guitar tones as well. The London Quireboys....out Black Crow'd the Black Crowes. The original Montrose.....that album changed my life...hahahahaha!!!!! Rock Candy baby!!!!!! There are plenty more but I'll shutup and let the collective lament.

I vote for the Fleetwood Mac lineup that had Bob Welch and Danny Kirwan (way before Buckingham and Nicks.) The Bare Trees album is a classic. Also Beck, Bogert, and Appice...
