Hey everyone,
Just wanted to send a quick note about something pretty exciting thats going on in my life. Earlier this week, I resigned from my position at Yamaha.

The exciting part of course is what I'm doing next. I've accepted a position as National Sales Manager for TC Electronic . Its a remarkable company, with great people and arguably some of the finest equipment in the music industry.

Perhaps the best part for me is, I'll actually be able to participate in this forum again. I'll be able to say what I think about keyboards and synths without a conflict of interests.

It will be great to have you back, Mike!

Congrats and good luck on your new gig with TC Electronics. Sounds like an exciting new opportunity.

Regards,
Eric

That's great Mike. Congrats and best wishes in your new job. Are you staying put or do you have to move again?

Congats Mike! I know you'll do a great job at TC Electronics. Their gane is Yamaha's loss. I also agree with Markyboard.

I'm staying here. No move this time. I'm in a convenient place to travel around to key accounts and the rep companies that TC has in place. Very happy to be staying here.

So what do I think...I'm probably going to get flamed...
Probably the thing that has driven me nuts over the last three years are the constant threads about which digital piano is better than the other. It seems to me that people spend less time playing the instruments and more time over analysing split points, key weight, sample size...etc. Personally I've never played two acoustic pianos that sounded or felt the same. They're all different. It amazes me this quest for something perfect when all of these products are great instruments in different ways. Listen to any old Beetles recording and hear the old out of tune upright piano. Sounds perfect to me. My $.02

So what do you think about TC Electronics' new reverb? I think the tails have been improved but...

Juuust kidding!

Congrats on the new position, although I for one am gonna miss your straight answers on Yamaha products over the years. Good luck!

Thanks Botch,
The last year however, I haven't been able to "speak" as an official Yamaha representative as my job had changed away from "marketing". Thats why I've been reading but not posting on the forums.

Now...Yamaha, Kurzweil, TC, you name it..hey if I can help someone, I'll do my best to do it.

Mike, I'm glad you'll be able to stay home in Chicago; but if you travel out our way to TC here in LA, be sure to let us know.

Congratulations on your new gig!

Best,

Geoff

Geoff,
I'll be out there at least once a month. Coming out July 5-7th, but since that will be my first week with the company I could be quite busy.

I'll keep you posted.

Mike I sincerely hope Yamaha give us some exciting and GUI friendly technologies in the future. I have sold most of my equipment (Motif ES, VSynth et al) now but would be very tempted by a new workstation that was several notches above whats available.

Mike,
I've sent you my congrats via email already, but what's wrong with restating them here. I'm particularly glad to hear that you'll be able to partecipate more in the forum. Looking forward to 'see' you on KC!

Hey MIKE,

Congratulations on the new position. I heard this through the grapevine (hey, catchy... that should be in a song or something) a few days ago. \:D

If you'll be going to summer NAMM, I'll see you there!

Yay Mike!

Now, I've been dying to know this - how do I tell you guys apart from TC Helicon?

Kurzweil, Yamaha, TC Electronic. You sure know how to pick companies that make quality music equipment. ;\)

I noticed that even after leaving Kurzewill for Yamaha you continued to come here and give a lot of people answers to their Kurzweill questions and problems.

And maybe you will hit 1000 posts before this thread fades. ;\)
