caprae
Okay, time to share my ignorance, Boggs. Explain to me how a half watt can drive a 4x12 to "rattle the walls volumes"? Are we talking Japanese rice paper walls? I'm only half kidding here. I really want to know this. Raise your children and spoil your grandchildren. Spoil your children and raise your grandchildren. I really want to know this. 1/2 watt in a full-range complex music program would be a strain, for sure, but guitar focuses more on midrange frequencies over a relatively narrow band and utilizes that half-watt far more efficiently. You won't get pure clean tones at rattling volume but when you start hitting overdrive, it gets WAAAAY louder than you can imagine it would. I would not be able to drive it hard in our church playing for Sunday service through my 1x12 British Series open-back without pissing off enough congregation members to storm out, for sure! The 4x12 is still the same impedence, but provides bigger surface area for the same power output... You won't be able to play clean at those volumes but look out when you crank it up and get dirty!
