I have an EX-5 and I wouldn't pay that much for it again. It's very buggy (especially for a Yamaha synth, of which I've owned many), it sometimes doesn't even call up its own presets reliably, and its worthless using it with an external hard drive for samples (we're talking 20-minute load times). I use Flash ROM for the little sampling I do, and that works OK although it took a LOT of experimenting to make it work (the manual was incomplete, another odd thing for a Yammie). On the other hand, the sounds ARE gorgeous, sound programming goes as deep as you could want (just two nights ago I set up dual filter envelopes for a falling sound on "Hellagood", lotsa fun!)and obviously I haven't traded mine in yet after four years of use. But still, if it were stolen I'd replace it with something different.
