I'm new to keyboards and i wanted to ask you all what you think would be the best coice for a keyboard.... and the software.

I also just wanted to ask what you all think would be the best computer to run this stuff off of. I'm thinking of a mac but i'm not sure.

This question is way too vague. You need to be more specific to get any useful responses. What type of music are you planning on making? Do you need a built in sequencer? Do you need sampling capability? What synths have you tried so far, and what did you think of them? What's your budget? etc.

Give us as much info as you know, and we'll be able to help you.

Well i'm new to all this stuff. I have never owned a synth.. nothing. That is why i am asking for help because i am really interested in starting to get into this kind of stuff. But here is some stuff from what i know anyway.

The cost dosen't matter at this point, i plan on starting some kind of an industrial type band, and i need help on everything else.

did you catch any of the suggestions i said on your first post on Craig's forum? ...

You have to be somewhat clear with people what your intentions are musically, what bands you like, what your knowledge is, what your attention span for learning software is, etc.. There's no ONE great keyboard for everything, and the same goes for software. Give us an outline of what your plans are.

Maybe a good place to start is to outline a piece of music you want to make. Once you've got that in your head and can describe it, you're set, you'll be flooded with gear recommendations. Then you can sort them by budget and availability. For software and computers, it's handy to start off with the same kind of gear your friends have, because it's much quicker to learn if a friend can help you out.

hey nin, i too enjoy industrial music, thats one reason i got into, or rather, getting into synths.
im really new as well, but i can tell you honestly after joining this forum over a month ago i went from not knowing which was middle c to knowing more than enough.
my best advise is to look around for a short bit, and in no time youll be asking much much more pin-point questions...

some questions of prefernce/needs i was asked when i asked your question were:
do you need:
-weighted keys or not?
-number of voices
-knobs/view screens etc as edit info?
-analog synth or more of a sampleplayback synth?
-number and kind of outputs
-what kind of sounds you need to be the best qualitly (alot of synths are good elctronica, but not natural sounds, etc)
-sequencing capabilitys/requirments?
etc etc, same with program, just look around and ask if something stumps you.

ps, someone once told me that trent is a nord user. try looks at thing LIKE that if you want something similar
