My Roland VK7 has begun losing it's power connection while I'm playing. It shuts down long enough to reset all the parameters and then turns back on. The fist one I bought did this brand new and they sent me a new one. This one waited until the warranty had expired before doing it. I have heard of others doing the same thing. Anyone know what the problem is?

What do the nice folks at Roland have to say about it? If you're two for two, and have heard of other units doing it, it'd be kind of hard for them to not admit something's wrong.

I'd be surprised if they weren't in search or posession of a solution...I mean, that sounds like a pretty specific problem...

That's what I thought, too. It seems rather strange that they appear so in the dark about it. I'm going to take it to a Roland service center this week, but I thought if I could go there armed with a little info about the problem they might be able to find it quicker. I contacted Roland tech support...their phone number was wrapped in seaweed and hidden under a pile of rocks at the bottom of the Marianas Trench and I spoke with the service center....no known notices about the problem. The studio that had one with this problem got rid of it because no one could help him. Why does it always seem that something like this happens in the middle of a near overload of studio work????

I've been using the B4 software on the project that I'm doing now. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with it. It's the best Hammond emulation that I've worked with yet. I mean, not just the sound - I really like the interface as well. Great software - doesn't cost much, either. Download the demo if you haven't already - you'll dig it.

Follow this link for my solution to the Roland VK-7 power problem. This apparently was a quirk with many vk's. I had two that did it. Hope this helps. Ken http://www.mindspring.com/~soper2/Quirk.html

Thanks for the tips, guys. I printed the quirk page to take along to the tech with me.
As for the B4, if it will save my back from carrying my 122 around I'kll give it a try. I am pretty much a die hard when it comes to leslies though. Thanks again

Excellent - I'll be really interested to hear what you think of it. Even the representation of the Leslie is pretty great - especially the interface. They put a lot of thought into it.
