Hey everyone,

I don't know if there's a real easy answer to this or not but, during our live shows, I sequence most of our keys. I have pianos and horns running out of my QS6.1 and most strings, organs, voices, etc coming out of my JV-1010 module.

I set up each performance group or mix assigning volumes to each patch based on listening to several different songs and trying to get a "live with it" mix. But then during shows, the volumes still are all over the place from song to song. The horns at the begining of "Sledgehammer" will make your ears bleed, but then the trumpet hits in "Get Down On it" are barely audible.

I am using a MIDI Data Filer, so I don't have real time control from a sequencer on stage. Would something like a Phat.Boy be helpful, or has anyone got a good solution or suggestion they can offer?

Thanks!

If you use your 6.1 as your controller, and you make Mixes specifying program changes and volumes on channels that are only set to transmit MIDI out, the 6.1 should control your JV-1010 just fine, and every time you change Mixes, the correct patch, volume, transpose and even panning values for each channel should be properly transmitted the moment that the new Mix is selected.

Note: If I remember correctly, you need to make sure that the MIDI IN parameter is turned off for each channel within the Mix on which you want these values transmitted.

Hope that helps...
