pauldil Posted February 5, 2003 Share Posted February 5, 2003 OK, tomorrow is my 46th birthday. I've received about $175 to buy myself a present. I'm still plugging my guitar directly into the mic input of my soundcard to record, so I though I could buy something to improve my recordings. I've read about inexpensive preamps like the Audio Buddy, but I'm not sure if that's a good way to go or not. Any recommendations for my $175 budget? I saw a band last night (fairly big nationally in the underground hardcore scene) with all this AMAZING gear but their heads were rackmounted PODS w/ Marshall valve power amps. Very good tone.
