roy d
another one that looks like a possibility is the Electar 10 watt amp. They are often on e-bay for around $80. I haven't heard one though Roy http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/alexisdmusic.htm "once it stops bein' a mystery it stops bein' true" David Mowaljarlai - Ngarinyin Aboriginal Elder
RangerJay
I had an Elektar 10 for a while. Very nice-sounding amp, and it sounded good on tape. Excellent value. Real tube sound, too. I gave it to a friend's son who is learning how to play. He needed it more than I did. If you want a great "recording" amp, check out the little TopHat cadet series. They will soon be available with 10" speakers, in addition to the regular 8" models. I've got a TopHat Club Deluxe that kicks ass -- pound for pound the best-sounding amp I own, I think. I've played a Portly Cadet in the store, and it sounded way better than the Elektar, but then it costs more, and is a TopHat PtP amp. I thought that the 8" speaker limited its potential. I'd love to hear one of the Cadets with a 10" speaker.
